Reason for the award
This construction project included pavement replacement work on a road in the Aikokuhigashi area, part of an annual contract for construction. The construction site was situated in an urban area, particularly in a densely populated residential area.
In two weeks, 28 new drainage basins (excavating 1.5 m to 2.0 m, at a rate of two units per day) were constructed. Road improvements were completed within one week, followed by unevenness correction and pavement work finished in three days. Additionally, because of the presence of only one branch road along the 175-meter stretch, it was challenging to divert vehicles, so residents were thoroughly informed and consulted in advance. Since vehicular traffic was closed during construction, the project was completed without any complaints or problems, thanks to rigorous safety management and daily communication with residents.
During drainage construction, unknown pipes were discovered daily. The contractor promptly communicated with government officials and responded to construction supervisors accordingly. These efforts ensured the construction was completed on schedule without any delays.
