Reason for the award
This project involved repairing the Kaizuka Overpass over the JR Kagoshima Main Line and Nishitetsu Kaizuka Line. Based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, the construction method and materials were selected to prevent damage to the roadbed. This included proposing the use of highly permeable composite waterproofing for coating and employing L-seal tape (molded water cut-off material for bridge ends) on joints. The construction was successfully completed without any accidents through these efforts.
