Outline

The Emultech SAMI construction method is a tack coat construction technique designed to reduce reflection cracks. It involves precisely spraying modified asphalt emulsion and pre-coated aggregate to create a stress-relief layer. The Emultech SAMI construction method employs TAKUMIZOL, a modified asphalt with excellent aggregate adhesion, and ROMENCHIP, known for its superior bonding. The construction process uses a specialized finisher, Romen Mack II, that simultaneously and precisely sprays both TAKUMIZOL and Romen Chip. Delaying the formation of cracks can extend the service life of pavements. Since cold mix application is possible, it does not emit CO2 from heating.

Features

  1. Since the tack coat acts as a stress absorbing membrane interlayer (SAMI), it helps suppress the formation of reflection cracks on the pavement surface during overlay or milling and overlay operations.
  2. Applying Emultech SAMI can extend the service life of pavements. Compared to repeating milling and overlay construction method this approach is expected to reduce CO2 emissions and decrease pavement waste by lowering the frequency of repair work.
  3. This product can be used as recycled aggregate in future repairs, making it an eco-friendly and recyclable construction method.
  4. Extending the lifespan of pavements can lower the overall life cycle cost.
  5. This product provides an efficient and safe construction method.

Applications

  • Stress absorbing membrane interlayer (SAMI) when conducting overlay or milling and overlay operations
