L-seal tape (molded water cut-off material for bridge ends) (for bridge ends) is a molded waterproofing tape designed to prevent water from infiltrating the joint between the bridge overlay and the newly applied asphalt mixture.
Its L-shaped design effectively prevents water infiltration at the edges of the leveling course where compaction is difficult to achieve. When water infiltrates the pavement, it can weaken the bond between layers and reduce the waterproofing effectiveness of the mixture, leading to accelerated damage to the pavement. Preventing water infiltration into the pavement can extend its service life.
