SHINAYAKAPHALT
Polymer-modified asphalt type (binder designed for longer-lasting pavement)
Outline
SHINAYAKAPHALT is a polymer-modified asphalt that improves crack resistance and extends the service life of asphalt pavement. Its excellent flexibility and toughness help reduce pavement damage, such as cracks and rutting, leading to a longer service life for the pavement. In indoor testing, a coefficient of layer equivalency of 1.7 was achieved.
Features
- Because of its high fatigue resistance, it reduces the likelihood of cracks compared to conventional polymer-modified asphalt. This enables pavement construction with a longer service life.
- The crack propagation velocity is extremely slow, making this product effective at suppressing reflection cracks for a long period of time when it is used for milling and overlay work.
- This product offers the same resistance to plastic deformation as polymer-modified asphalt type II.
- The workability is comparable to commonly used polymer-modified asphalt mixtures.
Applications
- Areas where a longer pavement service life is required.
- Areas where reflection cracks are anticipated when milling and overlay are conducted, particularly in asphalt pavements with cracks propagating in a hexagonal pattern.
