smart Slab Surface Catcher
System for detecting damage locations on slab surfaces
NETIS Registration No. CB-150004-VE
Outline
smart Slab Surface Catcher uses electromagnetic waves to detect damage on the concrete slab surfaces of bridges without removing the asphalt pavement.
This DX-compatible measurement vehicle is equipped with various digital technologies, including AI, Internet communication technology, and smart systems. It is part of Nichireki’s Smart Series products.
*DX | The process to enhance inspection efficiency and automation through digital technologies, such as AI, to ensure safe and reliable infrastructure management. |
*Smart Series | Systems that are continuously connected to the Internet and share data in real-time across multiple locations, including construction sites and offices. |

Features
- Measurement and inspection can be conducted while driving with regular traffic flow, eliminating the need for road closures.
- Analyzing reflected waveforms of electromagnetic waves can be time-consuming, even for experienced inspectors. However, this system automates the process using AI.
- Previously, preparing reports could take at least five days from the time of measurement. However, with AI-based analysis and the use of Internet, this process can be completed in just one day with this system.
- By uploading the AI-analyzed damage locations to the cloud server via Internet immediately after inspection, road administrators can receive quick analysis reports without delay.
- Inspectors then conduct a detailed analysis of the AI-identified damage locations, classifying the damages by severity and extent.
