SUPER SHINAYAKAPHALT
Polymer-modified asphalt type (binder designed for longer-lasting pavement with reduced carbon footprint)
Outline
SUPER SHINAYAKAPHALT is a polymer-modified asphalt designed to extend the service life of asphalt pavement, reducing the need for frequent road repairs. Additionally, it lowers the asphalt mixture production temperature by up to about 50°C compared to conventional products, which helps reduce carbon dioxide emissions during production.
Its excellent flexibility and toughness help reduce pavement damage, such as cracks and rutting, leading to a longer service life for the pavement. Additionally, lowering the mixture production temperature reduces heavy oil consumption by about 20%, which contributes to lower carbon dioxide emissions.
Features
- Because of its high fatigue resistance, it reduces the likelihood of cracks compared to conventional polymer-modified asphalt. This enables pavement construction with a longer service life.
- The temperature during mixture production and application can be reduced by about 50°C compared to our SUPER SHINAYAKAPHALT.
- Compared to polymer-modified asphalt type II, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by about 50% over a 50-year life cycle.
- When this product is used to produce a mixture at the same temperature as regular polymer-modified asphalt type II, it significantly extends the workable duration. This makes it easier to maintain quality during construction in remote locations, as the mixture can be transported over distances of approximately 65 to 100 km. It is also easier to maintain quality during construction in cold weather where the mixture temperature tends to drop rapidly.
- This product offers the same resistance to plastic deformation and workability as polymer-modified asphalt type II.
Applications
- Areas where a longer pavement service life is required.
- Asphalt pavement work performed at a site far from a mixing plant
- Asphalt pavement work in environments where the asphalt mixture cools quickly, such as during cold weather
